Each senior in our care has a unique life story, something that is very important to how we care for him or her. The Varietas Memory Care Program relies on the things we learn about your loved one to comfort and connect with them in a warm and nurturing environment.
We also incorporate Behavior-Based Ergonomics Therapy (BBET), a non-pharmacological, personalized therapy that reduces stress and boredom experienced by memory care residents. This national, award-winning therapy taps into more than 100 resources to engage residents, reduce agitation, depression, falls and medication use.
The Varietas environment is designed to reduce stress and stimuli and to encourage social interaction. Studies show that socialization has a positive impact on seniors and can reduce, even prevent the signs of depression. So, each resident’s Daily Routine consists of their own combination of therapeutic and positive stimulation, including expressive arts, exercise, nutrition, reminiscing, cognitive activities and social engagement with peers, staff and families.
Our goal is for all Varietas staff to be Certified Dementia Practitioners (CDPs), the highest standard in Alzheimer’s and Dementia education. This training and culture is organized around a structured daily schedule or Daily Routine that varies based on each resident’s mental and physical energies.
A state-of-the-art security system also allows residents to live independently while remaining within the comfort of a safe and secure environment.
